This beautifully organic chandelier is handmade from a unique mix of mud clay beads and locally collected grey seeds.

Our mud clay beads are made locally here on Likoma Island. We actually use the same clay that islanders use to build their homes. Each bead is individually rolled, heated traditionally and painted by hand.

In this piece we combine the clay beads with locally collected grey seeds, which are also known as imfibinga seeds. These seeds have been used traditionally in Africa for various kinds of decorations and repurposed here in our modern lighting pieces.

This chandelier provides a striking examples of what you can do with local and natural materials. It measures 70cm diameter and about 70cm total length.

Please note that our clay bead chandeliers are heavy and need to hang from a solid ceiling point. Ceiling hook and chain provided.
